ITU Regional Seminar for CIS on cybersecurity held in Odessa

ITU Regional Seminar for CIS and Georgia on integrated aspects of cybersecurity in infocommunications took place on June 5-17, 2016 in Odessa, Ukraine.

The main objective of the workshop was to exchange practical experience in the field of cyber security in information communications.

The following issues were discussed:

  • role of international s and state organizations in ensuring cybersecurity in ICT
  • strategic aspects of cybersecurity and fight cybercrime
  • cybersecurity regulation
  • technical, organizational and procedural aspects of cybersecurity
  • capacity building in cybersecurity
  • organizational and technical aspects of safety of children on the Internet

The implementation of two regional initiatives of the CIS countries approved by WTDC-14 ("Creating a center for the protection of the child in an online environment for the CIS region" and "Building confidence and security in the use of ICT") was discussed.

The seminar was attended by over 70 people, representing 12 countries: Armenia, Belarus, Belgium, Iraq, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Thailand, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Switzerland, Estonia and Japan.
